Quartet Parapluie
www.quartetparapluie.com |
Performing together since 2001, the members of the
quartet have broadened their repertoire and experience through recording
for rock albums and movie soundtracks, presenting traditional classical
concerts and premiering new works. Quartet Parapluie’s favorite and most
recent project has been performing for the Friday night crowd at Danny’s, a popular bar in the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago. |
Cap'n Jazz
www.myspace.com/capnjazz1 |
Short-lived but highly influential, Cap'n Jazz
helped transform emo from a deeply underground punk subgenre into a more
widely accepted subset of indie rock. With only one full-length album to
their name alongside a handful of singles and compilation tracks, Cap’n
Jazz left a longstanding impression and irrefutable influence on the
region’s bohemian punk scene and unwittingly spawned a breeding ground for
future scene stars such as the Promise Ring and Joan Of Arc. |
Lesser Scene

"...This is Chicago indie rock of the old school,
before the whole vibraphone crowd showed up and ruined everything...The
band comes across very much as a collection of different voices rather than the ranting platform of any one demagogue even across a too-brief five
songs..." |
Make Believe

Some beautiful, passionate music from great
friends. Always too much for words……………… |
Modest Mouse
www.modestmousemusic.com |
Isaac Brock has Modest Mouse sounding tighter
and better than ever, with help from a fattened up and familiar lineup, and the formidable addition of guitarist Johnny Marr. The songs are focused,
mature, and dare I say, catchy while still maintaining the integrity of
classic Brock piss and vinegar. Brock’s lyrics have always been the
clincher for me, and this time is no exception. |
Moe

Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan and Gram Parsons...
from hard rock to melodic country, moe can write songs and they can play
the bejesus out of them live |
